COWBOY CRAIG'S "OREO" Isn't he magnificent!

SATURDAY IN BANDERA, TEXAS

October 30, 2011
We took the stagecoach to town today and hung out with the other Bandera "street performers". Wes Hatch was there with his steer "Arrow" and then Dusty Britches showed up with his steer.  Unfortunately, I ran out of film with the buffalo showed up!  We had this wonderful crooner show up with his songs and story telling.

Theres a pic of our front yard - not everyone has a stagecoach in their front yard!

The dummy is Dusty - we rescued him from an abandoned hotel dowtown!

I love Dustry Britches green cowboy boots!

BANDERA RANCH HERITAGE DAYS!

October 28, 2011
Ron and I took the stagecoach out to the State Natural Area for Ranch Heritage days.  I even got Ron into a costume, but on him, he just looked like the part!  He was born 100 years too late!

The elderly gentleman that I photographed is Kevin Fitzpatrick's father. Kevin is a world famous trick roper and the real deal - look him up.  Well, I had the pleasure of listening to him tell how Kevin learned to rope - wish I had had a tape recorder - it was classic!

Well - had to put the big white fluff...

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE DAKOTAHS!

October 5, 2011

Well, never a dull moment!  The Bandera Cattle Co. at the courthouse in Bandera - the horses wer'nt too jumpy!

The gunfighters with Ron and the stagecoach - that's Paul and Buffalo - very cool characters!

Video of Blanco and Gypsy munching down on leaves ( we have to provide leaves twice a day)

Pics of my latest purses - hopefully at Xmas they will do well and last, but not least - Cisco is going to "Mustang Makeover" in Houston with Pat Parelli - if I find that it will be televised, will let yo...

RON DAKOTAH AND THE BIG "C" - PRAY FOR US

October 4, 2011
Well, we are so close to the VA hospital, Ron decided to go in and get a check up. Unfortunately, they have diagnosed him with prostate cancer, a very slow growing cancer, but we don't know if it has spread. We will be making alot of trips to the VA and although Ron has a great attitude, he is still shook up.  I will be juicing him every day, as soon as I receive this fancy juicer and giving him doses of MMS, a miracle purification system.  With the price of hay here up to $500 a ton, if Ron ...

CELEBRATE BANDERA DAYS - STAGECOACH/BANDERA CATTLE COMPANY HOLD UP

September 15, 2011
The big, big doings in Bandera is Celebrate Bandera - The Bandera Cattle Company arranged to rob the stagecoach for Jack Links Jerkey Co. Ron decided to gallop the horses to the hold up down Main Street with thousands of people and we almost ran over Jeannie B, our outrider.

Well, it's cooling off a little and we're in the middle of a hay crisis - $500 a ton and going up - ACK! should have stayed in Montana!

We can't wait til winter - can't function in this heat!

MAY THE HORSE BE WITH YOU!

Wagonmaster & cowboy artist find Bandera good fit

By Carolyn B. Edwards BCC

Ron “Dakotah” McGilvery and Teri Freeman escaped Montana for warmer climes and ended up managing Jeanie Parker’s Cadillac Ranch on Upper Mason Creek Road off Highway 173 North. Parker runs a Noah’s Ark of rescued animals of various denominations along with a carriage service and driving school (carriage and wagon driving, that is!), among other unique business services.
Dakotah and Freeman met...

HEAVEN & HELL

August 18, 2011
Well, you all know how hot it is in Texas, but we just keep reminding ourselves how bad winter is in Montana.  I've put both cabins up for sale which includes all the inventory - that would be a load off my mind.

Our boss wants to build a frontier town which would be very, very cool.  She bought a piece of property near our new little cottage - Yes, I'm finally going to get out of the RV and into a normal house in town with pasture.

We are very, very busy running the stagecoach and taking care ...

NATIONAL DAY OF THE AMERICAN COWBOY

July 27, 2011
This weekend in Bandera, Tx - we celebrated the National Day of the American Cowboy! Is it really national?  Anyway, Kevin Fitzpatrick was there - world reknown trick roper and heck of the nice man! Kinky Friedman was there to be inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame as well as many others. Saloon girls, gunfighters and we had the stagecoach there giving rides. Wes Hatch was there with his jail house wagon giving rides - fun day in the very hot sun, but it was profitable and we got to see eve...

CENTER POINT, TEXAS PARADE

July 10, 2011
Center Point is a tiny, tiny town with big town enthusiasm! There's Jeannie Parker and Jeannie Beauxbeenes with Goliath and the little pony standing along the parade route.

Today, Sunday, Ron went into town and had a couple of rides and it's unclear how, but JR got tangled up and went across the guard rail and down on the ground - Ron unloaded by poor bloody horse this afternoon. Hosed him down and medicated him and he seems OK. I'm almost glad I wasn't there to see it happen!

MAY THE HORSE BE ...
